Since this page has become crowded, as new videos are added, older ones, except for my favorites, will be movedHERE-PAGE2 I've got a cold as of today, April 26, so I wont be doing much over the next few days.
The Humane Society of Louisiana and Demelza charities are dedicated to my grandmother(March 8, 1916 - April 15, 2008,) who helped countless homeless stray dogs and cats and who died in a hospice as well as Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, her favorite figure skaters. And to her cousin, Virginia McMath, aka Ginger Rogers - two wonderful women that have given me so much.
Now, it is nearly May and I feel as though neither my grandmother nor I seem to count. It's as though only people from the UK matter. I suppose that I'm confused as to why others receive responses, yet after several months, I have received nothing. I can't understand why. I've always heard how sweet you are, so that just puzzles me even more and makes me wonder if I did something to offend you. I sincerely hope not. Ater losing my grandmother and ending a relationship, hearing from you would mean a lot to me.
My Grandmother's favorite song by her favorite singer, Elvis Presley, which was played at her funeral.
Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet ball scene performed by the Ballet de l'Opera National de Paris. The music is also referred to as The Dance of the Knights.
Fred loved choreography and had a creative imagination that would find inspiration in ordinary things like the sound of a cement mixer to use in dances. He was his own harshest critic and really didn't believe that his accomplishments were that great or that he would be remembered and loved long after his death as a creative genius and gited entertainer. I think he would have greatly admired Jayne and Chris.

An Open Letter to Jayne and Chris
I don't know if you visit this page, but I need to say something. I realize that you are very busy, however, I have heard that you always take the time to respond to letters. I heard from a British online friend who coordinates the Demelza fundraising that you happily signed articles and responded very sweetly to Spencer, the Demelza bear. I don't begrudge Kathy any thanks for her hard work, nor do I begrudge any fans signed autographs and pictures. But I do personally feel hurt. Back in January, I made an effort to reach out to you on your Bolero anniversary. I created a special card and donated over 1000 English pounds of saved money to Demelza to honor both you and my grandmother's memory because she cared about the two of you, which I told you. She meant the world to me and was there for me when my father died and my mother couldn't. Because I was so close to her, I came to care about you too, worrying about Chris's shoulder, especially during the tour, and hoping that you both have been doing well.
Could I Have This Dance - Anne Murray

Tribute to Jayne Torvill and
Christopher Dean & DOI judges
Some original videos have been moved to page 2, but no tribute to Jayne and Chris would be complete without mentioning Fred Astaire personally. It's fitting that a man that they admire was so much like them, especially Chris. I met Fred as an elderly man when I was a child. He was very sweet and surprisingly modest for someone who had achieved so much. Fred was known as a perfectionist and working with him wasn't easy. He would work and rehearse until he was satisfied with the end result even if he felt bad or something hurt, and those closest to him understood that while he could be obsessive, he also had a kind heart, deeply loved his work and truly enjoyed pleasing an audience. To give an example of how frustrating, yet lovable he could be, Ginger designed a beautiful dress with feathers for the number "Cheek to Cheek" in Top Hat. Fred was upset because feathers flew around in dress rehearsals. He and Hermes Pan asked Ginger to change the dress, but she was adament. Fred gave in and even gave Ginger a gold feather charm for her bracelet.
I love this song and its inspirational message. If I could tell Jayne and Chris anything, it would be the lyrics of this song - I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womak.
Ruthie Henshall singing Maybe This Time from Cabaret. I love Liza Minneli, and this version is just as good in my opinion.
Karen Barber and Nicky Slater performing the routine that won them the 1985 British Championships. A lovely performance.
Karen and Nicky performing a quickstep rountine to the song "S Wonderful" at the 1985 Worlds with comments by Betty Calloway. Excellent number that deserved higher scores.
Robin Cousins performing "Satan Takes a Holiday" at the 1985 World Challenge of Champions, a delightful, fun program that also shows Robin's excellent footwork.
A gem from Stars on Ice, 1999: "Old Friends" by Simon and Garfunkel, with Scott Hamilton, Kristi Yamaguichi, Katia Gordeeva, Kurt Browning and Steven Cousins.
